New OpenTTD-data package

March 30th, 2007

I got a great idea, from now on, no more debian package, instead, a package that works on all distributions.

Download the OpenTTD package for your distribution, install it, download the file below, open a terminal.

chmod + x openttd-data.run && ./openttd-data.run

Getting ET and teamspeak working together

June 17th, 2006

Oh well, finally an update ;)

I wanted to get Enemy Territory and Teamspeak to work together on my debian system.

Some sites recommended this:

echo 'quake3.x86 0 0 direct' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
echo 'quake3.x86 0 0 disable' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss

I need the first one to have sound anyway, but this prevents both from working ;D

After a lot of thinking and trying I thought of another way. Like you probably all know, I’m using KDE, and with that, the artsd for some things?

First configure it somewhat better in the KDE configuration panel.

Starting teamspeak: (easy, only the library is a problem)

cd /opt/TeamSpeak2RC2/
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/TeamSpeak2RC2:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
artsdsp -m ./TeamSpeak.bin

ET:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:.
artsdsp -m ./et.x86

And it works :)

2 Bookmarklets

To make your life easier (although I only made them to make mine easier :-P) I’ve made two bookmarklets.. One to look up the msn member directory profile of a user by e-mailadress, and another one to look up a public key or info about a key at the pgp.mit.edu server…

Digital camera

July 19th, 2005

I’ve got a dualboot on all my pc’s, windows/linux so I always used my DSC cam under windows. Because I thought that only cameras you could mount under linux were supported by linux… I plug it in, to test it under SUSE.. A window pops up.. A new camera is found. So it tries to open it with konqueror. It works, but konqueror crashes. I installed the gphoto program and libraries, and kamera. Started kamera, and tried to auto-detect it…. Fuck!!! God Damned! It doesn’t bloody work after the autodetection…

I tried to remain calm and tried dmesg | tail -n 50 | less. There was something rewritten about the stv068.c being loaded or something. I added a cam manually, searched in the list. STV068 was in the list…. Bingo!!! And I was able to get the pictures.. I’ll show you a screenshot of them, click to enlarge… And for the people that wonder what is on the pictures, it’s the cord of my headset, with the volume switch onthe photo too….
